From a dream to an emerging enterprise

It was a moment of madness when our founders quit their jobs on the same day to start ibs (then Interface). With no funding, no clients and even no breakthrough idea it was a tough ride initially. Starting from the second bedroom of their house, ibs has come a long way to being a 150 member organisation with over 40 awards in the last 4 years. A journey that has been characterized by resolve, commitment and innovation, has now placed ibs at the pinnacle of India’s new media potential with the most coveted brands as clients.

Guiding brick and mortar companies like Morphy Richards and Bajaj Electricals to setup systems and processes for optimum e-tailing. Or for that matter, partnering with P&G to make Thank You Mom an internationally acclaimed digital campaign.

In a market driven by agencies focusing on branding, engagement and media solutions, ibs has worked closely with clients to bring about both technology and business centric innovations that make a significant impact to how brands do business. Social commerce or the combination of social media and e-commerce has been an area of innovation for ibs. From launching Tata DOCOMO’s Facebook store that has generated a 300% rise in revenue of value Added Services to launching Twittcom, the World’s first Twitter commerce. ibs has innovated in the area of content production with India’s first community co-created book for Kotak Mahindra to creating recipe books. ibs has also worked closely with clients to digitize business processes in a consultative approach. For example, helping Bajaj Finserv become the first financial institution to sanction personal loans online in 5 minutes flat.

Evolution is central to our existence

ibs has invested in process improvements and skill enhancements across multiple areas. It started the content delivery division that has since shown tremendous potential and interest amongst clients. Already 5 existing clients have invested in paid content production and many are evaluating possibilities. Further ibs moved its software development process under PMP certified Scrum process and invested significantly in technology and manpower to move to PA-DSS certification for its e-commerce platform PowerPortal. ibs also has now acquired Facebook Ads API developer status and has built its own tools to manage and significantly improve its Facebook ad deliveries including launching Hyper Personalization, a world’s first.

ibs continues with its excellent staff retention record with only a 5% employee turnover over the previous year, a level maintained over the last 9 years of being in business. ibs has a belief that the general knowledge levels and approach to digital amongst professionals in India does not meet with its standard of operations or strategic approach. As a company it follows a strict discipline of an un-learn and re-learn program geared towards inducting every employee into the strategic planning process through handholding and mentoring. The company has now instituted a principle of “gurus” – people who have already been with the organization and understand the holistic planning and execution process then take in fresh joinees and orient them in the way ibs does business.
The program has been a huge success with every employee at all levels at ibs being groomed into a complete digital professional in six months’ time. Everyone understands the basics of every discipline, from technology to design, css to javascript and social media to media every employee can fill in for each other at will. The success of ibs can in large part be attributed to the strategy of creating all rounded digital professionals at every level.
